We are currently looking for a Product Stewardship & Regulatory Specialist, EMEA to join us at one of our facilities in the UK: Welwyn Garden City, Darlington, Farnham, Huthwaite, or Wellingborough.
Role Overview
The Product Stewardship & Regulatory Specialist, EMEA supports compliance with European, Middle Eastern, and African chemical, product safety, environmental, and transportation regulations applicable to paints, coatings, and related raw materials. Working closely with R&D, commercial, supply chain, and manufacturing teams, this role helps ensure products meet regulatory requirements throughout their lifecycle and can be successfully marketed across the region. Responsibilities include maintaining regulatory data, preparing and managing Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), supporting product notifications and registrations, monitoring regulatory developments, and responding to customer and internal compliance inquiries. The position contributes to the company's commitment to product safety, regulatory excellence, and responsible stewardship while supporting innovation and business growth across EMEA markets.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor regulatory environment for implementation of new legislation in areas of sale and ensure maintained compliance with any changes.
- Audit compliance of existing formulations against regulations of countries of current sales.
- Anticipate potential future regulatory action that could impact the business to aid planning.
- Assess regulatory conditions of new markets prior to entry.
- Monitor impact of raw material classification changes and formulation updates on product SDS and labels.
- Provide input into the artwork generation process to ensure that product labels and technical literature meet legal minimum standards from a regulatory perspective and that technical claims can be justified by data.
- Respond to formulation disclosure requests, e.g. to competent government authorities.
- Participate in the maintenance of accurate written procedures and work instructions for raw material related processes in the PSRA function.

Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry or related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in product stewardship and/or regulatory affairs function, preferably in a multinational corporate environment.
- Knowledge of key regulatory drivers of the global chemical industry, (e.g. REACH and VOC regulations) for both industrial and consumer markets.
- Practical experience in interpreting product regulatory requirements for chemical products.
- Knowledge and experience assigning GHS classifications.
- Knowledge and experience in SDS and label authoring/preparation.
- Ability to understand complex regulations pertaining to chemical substances.
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
- Customer-focused, result-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
- Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft Office products.
