- Diagnosing and reproducing software problems

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What we're looking for
You'll have experience in a B2B software/application support role and be comfortable investigating beyond the user interface.
We're looking for:
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
- Good SQL knowledge
- Experience supporting Windows-based business applications
- Understanding of Windows Server and Windows Services
- Good technical understanding of areas such as DNS, networking, ports, firewalls and SSL/TLS certificates, and how these can affect the operation and connectivity of software applications
- Experience with software installation, configuration and upgrades
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A methodical approach to investigation
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability
You don't need to be a developer, network engineer, or infrastructure specialist. What matters is having enough technical understanding to recognise where a problem may sit, investigate intelligently, and gather the right information before involving another team.
Previous MES or manufacturing software experience isn't required. We'll teach you our products and the manufacturing domain.

Product Quality
Your primary focus will be Customer Support, but Product Support and Product Quality work as one team at LYNQ.
You'll also provide cross-cover for Product Quality when required, including defect reproduction, functional and regression testing, and validating fixes. Likewise, colleagues with a Quality focus provide cross-cover into Support during periods of higher demand or absence.
Working with our global customers
LYNQ supports customers across multiple international markets, including a significant customer base in the United States.
The role will normally operate within our standard working arrangements, but some flexibility in working hours will be required to support customer meetings, priority issues or activities that need to take place across different time zones.
We're looking for someone who wants more than a queue of tickets, someone who wants to know the product, understand our customers, investigate problems properly, and take ownership of getting them resolved.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
