Working Hours:
- 40 hours per week – 08:00 am – 05:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
- 1 hour – Unpaid Lunch Break.
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Product Support & Training Technician, based at our Ashton Road site, to provide product expertise, customer training, and manufacturing support relating to window blinds, shutters, and motorised product ranges. The role involves delivering training, conducting product trials, supporting exhibitions, and assisting customers with manufacturing and product-related enquiries and support sales activities both in the UK and overseas. The position focuses on providing product expertise, manufacturing support, and customer training within the window blinds, shutters, and motorised products industry.
Main Purpose of the Role
- To work as part of a team, demonstrating a highly motivated, enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive approach.
- To offer technical advice and provide in-house and on-site training in the manufacture of window blinds, Urban Shutters, and motorised products to Louvolite’s current and potential customer base in the UK and overseas, helping to further company sales.
- To provide excellent face-to-face, telephone, and email communication, assisting customers and colleagues with product, manufacturing, and installation enquiries.
- To assist with exhibition and display stand building and attend exhibitions in the UK and worldwide.
- To manufacture window blinds and Urban Shutters for trade shows, performance tests, and trials.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist the overall sales effort to develop additional profitable business for Louvolite, including training on production methods at Louvolite or customers’ premises, including overseas, for Vertical, Roller, Pleated, Cellular, Vision, and Perfect Fit Blinds, Urban Shutters, and motorised products.
- Build and service production tables. Explain and demonstrate their use for the efficient manufacture of Louvolite products.
- Answer technical questions relayed to the department by telephone, email, or in person.
- Perform trials of new fabrics, test new components, assist with new product development when required, and create manufacturing instructions for new products.
- Assist with building exhibition and display stands both within Louvolite and at exhibition venues, producing blinds for the stands when required.
- Demonstrate the technical aspects of Louvolite products at exhibitions in the UK and abroad.
- Maintain accurate administration relating to tests and trials undertaken.
- Take part in site visits to customers’ and end user premises to resolve technical issues.
- The role involves lifting and carrying tooling.

Essential Criteria
- Available to travel overseas at short notice.
- Hold a valid passport and a full, clean driving license.
- Practical hands-on problem solving.
- Customer-facing experience.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within window coverings, manufacturing, production, engineering, or a similar product-based environment.
- Experience delivering product demonstrations or training.
