Product Technologist
Full time | Fixed-term contract of up to 6 months | Field based in the North

We’re looking for a hands-on Product Technologist to help bring new products to life across Krispy Kreme UK & Ireland. You’ll plan and run factory trials, support launches and find smart ways to improve how we make our products while protecting the quality our customers love.
You’ll be home based when you’re not on site, with regular travel to our manufacturing hubs and occasional visits to our support office. Ideally, you’ll be located in the Rochdale or Leeds area. You’ll report to our Head of Food Safety and Quality.
What you’ll be doing
- Bring new ideas into production. Plan and lead trials for new products, recipes, ingredients, packaging and process changes. Record the results, follow up on actions and support the first production runs.
- Find practical improvements. Explore ways to reduce ingredient and material usage, waste and giveaway. Trial changes carefully and track whether the savings last.
- Protect every product. Make sure changes meet food safety, allergen, legal, quality and customer requirements. Support testing, risk assessments, specifications and change-control records.
- Bring people with you. Work closely with our NPD, Technical, Quality, Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance teams, as well as suppliers. Give production teams a clear handover when something new goes live.

What you’ll bring
You’ll have experience in a product development, process development or technical role in food manufacturing, including planning factory trials and supporting launches. You’ll be comfortable working on the factory floor, confident with food safety, HACCP, allergens and specifications, and able to use data to understand yield, waste, material usage and cost.
You’ll be organised, curious and commercially minded. You’ll know how to challenge an established process with evidence, build relationships across teams and follow a change through from trial to verified result. A relevant food qualification or experience in value engineering would be a bonus.

This role involves regular travel and occasional out-of-hours work to support trials and launches.
