Job Title
This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, intended to support a specific business need for a defined period.
We are looking for an experienced Product UX/UI Designer to shape intuitive, consistent and engaging experiences across our product portfolio. You will simplify complex functionality, strengthen our shared design system and help create accessible, scalable products that are easy to use.
You will transform complex functionality into visually engaging, user-centred experiences. Working from user, business and technical requirements, you will define clear product experiences, contribute to shared design systems and help ensure every product remains accessible, scalable and easy to use.
Responsibilities
- Work across our product portfolio, balancing competing priorities and maintaining a consistent standard of user experience and visual design.
- Collaborate with product leads, developers and internal stakeholders to align product goals, user needs, technical constraints and delivery priorities before design decisions are made.
- Translate product concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes that make proposed experiences clear, testable and ready for stakeholder and development review.
- Shape product direction through research, concept development, sketching, prototyping and user testing, turning evidence and feedback into practical design decisions.
- Conduct structured market and competitor analysis to understand user expectations, established SaaS patterns and feature presentation, and identify opportunities for meaningful product differentiation.
- Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with project managers and developers.
- Illustrate design ideas using sketches, user flows and sitemaps.
- Create UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look.
- Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables).
- Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness).
- Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
- Adhere to brand standards on fonts, colours and images.
- Apply accessibility principles throughout the design process, from early concepts and interaction patterns to final interface specifications.
- Plan and complete design tasks within agreed timescales, communicating risks or dependencies early enough to protect delivery.
- Ability to learn and implement new tools and techniques.
- Consistently follow team’s processes and procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
