The primary purpose of this role is the Up-front quality planning and to determine if consumers and customer are satisfied by evaluating the output and supporting continual improvement.
To ensure the completion and to coordinate the execution of the Product and Process Validation Plan for the new products and changes on the existing products right first time.
Coordinate the Product and Process Quality Improvement Initiatives (CI), working with cross functionally teams in the organisation to identify and systematically solve problems to root cause. This role supports Managers to embed the proper right first time operational culture, process understanding, CI Tools, as well work close with Supply chain team, Team Leaders and Coaches to build effective Quality Project teams.
By working closely with the NPD Centre of Excellence and Packaging Technologist, the role holder will coordinate and support the implementation of new products, give feedback on projects related to Supply Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Active participation in Project Meetings with NPD Team to discuss the new projects assigned to Andover Supply Centre.
- Responsible for internal communication by leading meetings with the team to discuss: new projects, status of projects implemented, status of projects in progress, the status of completed projects.
- Support the implementation of Andover Supply Centre optimisation projects.
- Product and Process Validation:
- Facilitate the Risk Assessment (i.e. FMEA - Failure Mode and Effect Analysis);
- Prepare the Quality Control Plan including the New or Modified Acceptance Quality Standards;
- Ensure that all Food Safety aspects have been taken in consideration;
- Development of Test Methods in conjunction with other areas of the Business;
- Packaging materials and blends trials management and report: Define, review ensuring trials are formally agreed with the Production & Planning functions and reflected in production plans, and support the shift-based quality resources to lead the administration of trials (including trials at co packers);
- Prepare or review the Quality Agreements with the current or new Suppliers in conjunction with Packaging Technologist;
- Qualification of new supplier and new co packers;
- Prepare or update all necessary standards and training of personal.
- Support the Data Management (including specifications) in conjunction with Packaging Technologist.
- Apply strong analytical skills to add definition to problems and solutions to track and analyse trends for Cost of Non-Quality.
- Support savings and optimization projects from Quality and Compliance point of view, by making analysis and standardisation.
- Adherence with all Company Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. To ensure full co-operation in all aspects of HSE and to act positively on any failings or weaknesses in our systems or procedures, identified by yourself or brought to your attention.
- Providing back up support to the Quality Assurance lead and general Quality& Compliance team objectives.
- Provide system support for the management of skills and personnel development as required.

- 4+ years operational experience in FMCG environment
- Have experience with Product and Process Validation Plan, including Risk assessments, SPC (Statistical Process Control) QCP (Quality Control Plan), Develop New Acceptance Quality Standards and Test Methods
- Have experience of designing and delivering training packages and working as a supplier of training solutions
- Experience in Continuous Improvement projects.
- Analytical and attention on the detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrable working knowledge of UK Food Safety Legislation.
- Experience with MS office systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present detailed information to all levels
- Excellent time management
- Self-motivated and capable of delivering results in line with the business needs
