Product Value Engineer

Ledbury | Permanent | Full Time - £50,000 - £55,000

Looking for a role where you can make a genuine commercial impact?

An innovative manufacturing business is looking for a Product Value Engineer to drive product cost reduction, value engineering and design improvement projects across its product range.

This isn't a traditional Continuous Improvement role focused on shop floor processes. Instead, you'll be working closely with Engineering, Procurement and Production teams to identify smarter, more cost-effective ways of designing, sourcing and manufacturing products without compromising quality or performance.

The Role

  • Lead product cost reduction and value engineering projects across existing product ranges.
  • Challenge product designs, specifications and material selections to identify savings opportunities.
  • Drive component rationalisation, standardisation and simplification initiatives.
  • Work with suppliers to explore alternative materials, components and sourcing strategies.
  • Support product redesign projects with a focus on manufacturability, performance and margin improvement.
  • Manage a pipeline of cost-out and product improvement projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Measure and report the commercial impact of improvement activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
