We have a fantastic opportunity for a Production Administrator to join our team based at our Dalton, Thirsk site.

Working hours - Monday - Thursday 7.30 - 4.30 and Friday 7.30 - 12.30

Vacancy Details

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Production Administrator to support the efficient day-to-day operation of our steel manufacturing facility. Working closely with the Production Management team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate employee and operational records, supporting payroll and attendance processes, coordinating training activities, and ensuring administrative processes run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Managing the Time & Attendance (T&A) system, including employee hours, overtime, holidays, absences, and attendance records.
  • Investigating and resolving timesheet discrepancies and payroll-related queries.
  • Maintaining accurate employee and operational data within the OTIS system.
  • Producing reports and management information to support operational planning and decision-making.
  • Coordinating and recording internal and external training activities, ensuring training records and matrices remain up to date.
  • Raising, processing, and tracking Purchase Orders in line with company procedures.
  • Maintaining departmental project trackers and providing updates on project progress, actions, and risks.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Production Management team and wider production function.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous administration experience, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering, production, or industrial environment.
  • Experience using Time & Attendance systems and supporting payroll administration processes.
  • Strong knowledge of administrative procedures with the ability to maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using business systems such as OTIS or similar.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Experience coordinating training records, compliance documentation, or purchase order processes would be advantageous.
