Overview:

Production & Subsurface Lead

We are seeking an experienced Production & Subsurface Lead to play a critical role in maximising economic hydrocarbon recovery throughout the remaining life of a major offshore gas asset. This position combines production engineering, subsurface management, regulatory compliance, and business support responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional looking to influence asset performance and strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Own and maintain the production management framework and standards.
  • Develop and regularly update life-of-field production forecasts.
  • Monitor production performance against forecast expectations, providing clear analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly production reviews to optimise wells and facilities performance.
  • Investigate production loss events, ensuring robust root cause analysis and implementation of lessons learned.
  • Work collaboratively across disciplines to identify production bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate production risks.
  • Ensure all production-related regulatory consents remain in place and maintain compliance with applicable industry requirements.

Hydrocarbon Accounting

  • Manage hydrocarbon accounting activities, ensuring accurate allocation of production volumes and emissions across the value chain.

Subsurface Management

  • Lead reserves and resources reporting activities.
  • Provide subsurface expertise to support well plug and abandonment (P&A) planning and decommissioning activities.
  • Ensure all relevant subsurface data is available to support safe and effective project delivery.

Regulatory Information & Samples Coordination

  • Manage Information and Samples Coordinator (ISC) obligations.
  • Ensure regulatory data submission requirements are fulfilled across subsurface, wells, decommissioning, production, infrastructure, and physical sample management.

Business Support

  • Act as a Lead Investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation methodologies.
  • Support wider business initiatives and undertake additional responsibilities as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring a strong production or petroleum engineering background, combined with the ability to critically evaluate production performance and forecasting assumptions.


Skills & Experience

  • Strong Production Engineering or Petroleum Engineering expertise.
  • Ability to analyse production performance and validate production forecasts.
  • Experience working within offshore oil and gas operations.
  • Understanding of hydrocarbon accounting, reserves reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified, ideally in a Production Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Geoscience, or related subsurface discipline.
