We are partnered with a trusted recruitment business to support an established food manufacturer with their search for experienced Production Area Managers to join their site in Leicester.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of a designated production area, leading teams to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality production within a fast-paced butchery environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced food manufacturing professional with a strong understanding of chilled, short shelf-life products and previous experience managing production teams.

The Role - Production Area Manager
You'll be responsible for leading your production area, ensuring people, equipment and processes are effectively managed to achieve production plans, quality standards and customer requirements.
Working closely with the Production Manager and wider site teams, you'll drive performance, maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, and support continuous improvement across the operation.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage production teams within a chilled low-risk/care environment.
- Deliver daily production plans while maintaining quality, safety and efficiency.
- Manage team performance, attendance, training and development.
- Monitor production KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, health & safety and company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and product quality.
- Work closely with Engineering, Technical, Planning and other departments to resolve issues.
- Investigate production problems and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, waste and overall performance.
- Ensure labour and resources are effectively planned and utilised.
- Promote a positive, accountable and safety-focused culture within the production team.
About You
- Previous experience in a production management or supervisory role within food manufacturing.
- Chilled, short shelf-life food experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements.
- Proven experience leading and developing production teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production KPIs, performance and efficiency.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on, proactive management style with the ability to lead from the front.
