Production Centre Manager

Based - Carlton, Barnsley - The Home of Mr Kipling

Full Time, Permanent

Salary circa £65,000 per annum + benefits


Shape the Future of Manufacturing at Premier Foods!

We're looking for an inspiring and ambitious Centre Manager to join our manufacturing leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of our production centres, taking responsibility for 4 production lines, including a new automated production line. You'll lead a team of 5 direct reports and over 100 indirect reports, playing a critical role in delivering outstanding performance across safety, quality, service, cost, and people.

Working alongside three other Centre Managers and reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be a visible and engaging leader who can develop people, drive performance, and create a culture of continuous improvement.

This role offers a fantastic development opportunity for someone looking to progress their manufacturing leadership career, with a clear pathway towards a future Operations Manager position.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading production operations across 4 manufacturing lines to deliver world-class performance.
  • Inspiring, coaching, and developing your team and wider workforce.
  • Creating a positive, high-performing culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Using operational and CI data to identify trends, solve problems, and drive sustainable improvements.
  • Managing resource planning, performance, budgets, and KPIs to achieve business objectives.
  • Working collaboratively with site stakeholders to deliver operational excellence and future growth plans.
  • Building robust succession plans and developing future talent across your area.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people and driving operational performance.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • A proven track record of leading, coaching, and developing teams.
  • Experience managing through other leaders and creating high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to identify opportunities, solve problems, and improve performance.
  • Exposure to Continuous Improvement methodologies and a passion for driving operational excellence.
  • Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments where flexibility and adaptability are essential.
