The Position

Join our Production Compliance team in Pirbright and contribute to maintaining high standards of quality and GMP compliance across manufacturing operations. This role offers the opportunity to lead deviation investigations, drive CAPA and change control activities, deliver compliance training, and support continuous improvement initiatives across production departments. This is a fixed-term contract providing broad exposure to quality systems, manufacturing, and EHS and biosafety activities while working closely with cross-functional teams in a regulated biopharmaceutical environment.

The position is offered on a fixed-term basis until December 2027. Due to the nature of the production and manufacturing environment, this role requires regular onsite presence at our Pirbright, Surrey manufacturing site, with a minimum of three days per week worked onsite.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Lead deviation, CAPA, and change control activities, ensuring investigations are completed on time, root causes are identified, and effective actions are implemented.
  • Provide compliance support to production teams, acting as a subject matter expert on QMS requirements and promoting consistent GMP compliance across departments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements through the change control system, delivering measurable improvements to compliance, efficiency, or operational performance.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training and support documentation, ensuring personnel remain trained, competent, and audit-ready.
  • Collaborate with QA and cross-functional teams to support audits, respond to compliance enquiries, and maintain accurate controlled documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement, EHS compliance, and risk management activities by investigating incidents, completing risk assessments, and ensuring agreed actions are delivered within target timescales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
