Job Description: Production Controller

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Production Controller to remotely coordinate production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and manufacturing schedules across our operations.

Working closely with the Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and Warehouse teams, you will ensure materials are available, production orders are released on time, and customer deliveries are met. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys coordinating multiple projects remotely.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning

  • Create, release, and monitor production work orders.
  • Coordinate production schedules with manufacturing and engineering teams.
  • Prioritize jobs to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor work order progress and identify potential delays.
  • Provide regular production status updates to stakeholders.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Monitor inventory levels using the ERP/MRP system.
  • Review minimum stock levels and initiate replenishment requests.
  • Ensure materials are available to support production schedules.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and purchasing teams regarding stock shortages.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and production records.

  • Raise and manage purchase orders for production materials and components.
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Monitor supplier lead times and communicate any delays to the production team.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve delivery or supply issues.

Production & Operations Coordination

  • Liaise daily with Production, Engineering, Stores, and Purchasing teams.
  • Coordinate priorities between departments to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Bill of Materials (BOM) updates.
  • Assist with introducing new products into production.

Customer Order Management

  • Coordinate production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Track customer orders throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Prepare and issue Order Acknowledgements (ACKs).
  • Communicate production status and estimated completion dates to internal teams.

RMA & Repair Coordination

  • Manage Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) through repair and production workflows.
  • Track repair progress and ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams on repair requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of RMA activities.

Shipping & Logistics Support

  • Coordinate with warehouse and shipping teams to ensure orders are dispatched on time.
  • Prepare shipping documentation where required.
  • Track shipments and provide delivery updates to internal teams.

ERP / MRP System Management

  • Maintain accurate production data within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Update Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers, and production records.
  • Generate production planning and inventory reports.
  • Support continuous improvement of planning and inventory processes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve production planning and scheduling.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce delays.
  • Develop and maintain production planning reports and KPIs.
  • Support automation and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in Production Control, Production Planning, Materials Planning, Operations, or Supply Chain.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment (electronics manufacturing preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating remote production teams.
  • Experience with purchasing, inventory control, and supplier management.
  • Experience with international suppliers and logistics.
