Production Department Supervisor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Production Department Supervisors to join our existing team at our Franks Road facility in Coalville. As a Production Department Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and supporting teams across our manufacturing departments, reporting directly to the relevant Department Manager.
You will organise work, support and develop employees, and ensure production is delivered safely, to the required quality standards and on time. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will resolve problems and help improve your department’s performance.
The successful applicants shall be flexible, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with the ambition to pursue a career in a modern aerospace engineering environment.

- Day shift (Monday - Thursday 07:45-16:30, Friday 07:45-14:15).

Production Department Supervisor will be involved with:
- Leading, supporting and developing a team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Planning daily workloads and making effective use of people, equipment and resources.
- Monitoring production progress and addressing issues that could affect delivery.
- Maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Housekeeping.
- Managing attendance, timekeeping and performance fairly and consistently.
- Identifying training needs and supporting the recruitment and induction of new employees.
- Maintaining accurate records and communicating clear priorities and progress updates.
- Working closely with colleagues across the business to resolve day-to-day production issues.
- Identifying practical improvements and ensuring agreed actions are completed on time.
- Promoting a positive working environment and encouraging employees to take pride in their work.
Essential knowledge, skills & experience:
- Experience of working within a manufacturing, engineering or similar production environment.
- Experience of leading, supervising or supporting a team.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads and manage competing priorities.
- A practical approach to resolving day-to-day production problems.
- Ability to lead by example and take responsibility.
- Ability to maintain consistent standards and address concerns constructively.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues across different areas of the business.

Preferred knowledge, skills & experience:
- Previous experience working as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader or similar position.
- Experience within an aerospace engineering or precision manufacturing environment, is helpful but not compulsory.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Quality requirements within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing techniques.
- Experience of training, developing or mentoring employees.
