Informa is a leading academic publishing, business intelligence, knowledge and events business, creating unique content and connectivity for customers all over the world. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a member of the FTSE 100.

Taylor & Francis is one of the world’s largest publishers of high-quality, peer reviewed scholarly journals, books, e-books and reference works. We empower learners, thinkers and doers with trusted knowledge that advances research and enriches lives. We bring together diverse people, ideas and opinions to validate and publish the experts, theories and truths that matter. And we’ve been doing this in an unbroken arc since 1798.

Our purpose is to foster human progress through knowledge. We strongly believe that this requires us to encourage and examine different ideas and voices, so that any work that meets our exacting levels of quality deserves to be included in our publications. This requires open minds, the opportunity for robust debate, and the courage to defend perspectives that stand up to scrutiny, even if they conflict with our personal beliefs or values. Because that’s the only way to find the best obtainable version of the truth and, ultimately, foster human progress. If you agree, then we’d love to hear from you.

Job Description

Are you someone who is very process driven but also loves working with people and offering great service? Are you looking to start or continue your career in publishing, or simply looking for a new challenge?

Then come and join Taylor & Francis Group - a leading academic publisher - within our Books Production Editorial department, where we are recruiting for a Production Editor on a maternity cover basis to project manage books production across the Routledge and CRC Press imprints!

As a Production Editor you will oversee the production of new titles from receipt of the author’s un-copyedited typescript through to delivery of the final product, ensuring new books meet our quality requirements.

The key responsibilities of the Production Editor are:

  • Commissioning suppliers, preparing material for suppliers, managing relationships with, and feeding back to, suppliers
  • Handling incoming queries from authors and editors
  • Maintaining up-to-date information on our database
  • Quality control of final content
  • Controlling schedules
  • Controlling budgets, and assessing and coding invoices for prompt supplier payment
  • Completing multiple tasks to deadlines within a process-driven environment

Please note that training will be provided.

Qualifications

In order to be successful in this role you will:

  • be accustomed to prioritising and working to deadlines, be organised, and be able to multi-task
  • have excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify errors
  • understand the importance of maintaining information relied on by others, ideally through experience of using a database
  • be able to manage expectations so that we deliver to everyone's satisfaction
  • have the ability to problem-solve
  • be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • have the ability to build rapport with people and offer first class customer service as well as be very process-driven
  • adapt well to change and not be daunted by changing priorities
  • have basic skills in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Reader, and have an aptitude and enthusiasm for working with new technology
  • ideally have experience of working within budgets (but this is not essential)
  • ideally have a basic understanding of the publishing process from typescript submission to final content (but this is not essential)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
