Production Engineer
We're looking for a Production Engineer to join a London-based DevOps team! This is a hands-on engineering position supporting critical mid-to-back-office trading systems. You’ll work across Linux infrastructure, production applications, deployment tooling and trading-data pipelines in an environment where reliability, accuracy and rapid problem-solving directly affect the business.
The opportunity
Working within a small, experienced engineering team, you’ll take ownership of production reliability while building automation and tooling that reduces manual work and improves operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting production trading systems and on-premises Linux infrastructure.
- Developing Python applications, automation and ETL pipelines.
- Building and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling.
- Managing containerised workloads using Docker, Podman or similar technologies.
- Responding to production incidents and leading investigations through to resolution.
- Performing root-cause analysis and maintaining operational documentation and runbooks.
- Monitoring pricing and reference-data pipelines used for trading, risk and P&L.
- Building automated reconciliation and data-quality checks.
- Supporting the onboarding of new financial instruments.

What you’ll bring
- Commercial experience in Production Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Systems Engineering or a similar position.
- Strong Python development and scripting skills.
- Experience supporting Linux-based production environments.
- Knowledge of Bash, SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git and container technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, infrastructure and data.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or another STEM discipline.

Valuable experience
- Systematic trading, proprietary trading or financial systems.
- Market data, reference data, risk or P&L processes.
- Ansible or comparable configuration-management tools.
- Airflow, Dagster or similar orchestration frameworks.
- C++ development.
- Data-quality and reconciliation frameworks.

- A base salary of up to £140,000, depending on experience + performance-related bonus.
