About the Role

Every successful product relies on someone who can bridge the gap between design and manufacture - spotting issues before they become problems, improving how things are built, and turning ideas into reliable, repeatable production.

That’s where you come in.

As a Production Engineer at Scientifica, you’ll be working on precision equipment used by scientists and researchers worldwide, supporting neuroscience research and wider life science applications - including work into neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s.

You’ll join our Engineering team in Maidenhead, playing a key role in the build, integration and continuous improvement of our electro-mechanical product range at the heart of our manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role, combining desk-based engineering with time on the production floor, where you’ll see the direct impact of your work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting prototype builds and production assemblies
  • Investigating manufacturing and quality issues and driving them through to resolution
  • Designing, maintaining and improving CAD models, drawings and engineering documentation
  • Managing engineering changes and maintaining configuration control
  • Creating build manuals and production documentation to support efficient assembly
  • Designing and implementing tooling, jigs and fixtures
  • Supporting testing, fault-finding and system integration
  • Working closely with production, project and operations teams to improve performance and delivery

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
