Job Description

Your Work Environment

We are now looking to recruit a Production Engineer Metal Finishing – LSM and Dryers in the Central Production Engineering Department (PED) of Bevcan EMA. The role could be based at our centre in Wantage (UK) or preferably at one of our European plants locations. The scope of the role is to support 12 manufacturing locations in Europe (UK, France, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Greece, Germany and Turkey) and 5 in the Middle East and North Africa (UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia). You will also be involved in project work at new greenfield sites and newly acquired manufacturing locations.

Your Mission In Crown

Join us and participate in all the improvement activities of the Metal Finishing to improve all standards of the manufacturing processes in terms of quality, cost and efficiency.

Primary areas of activity and responsibility for the role will include the Lacquer Spray Machines (LSMs), Rim Coaters (BRCs & MRCs), Over varnish units (O/V), the associating ovens: IBOs, Pin Ovens, Washer Dryers, UV ovens with all associated materials /chemicals.

  • You provide plant operational support for quality issues and support in maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting, implementing best practices and follow-up with issues and improvement projects.
  • You realise Line operation and technical audits and propose improvements opportunities through respective projects.
  • You promote the development of SOP’s, Best Practices and Cost Reduction Programmes for regular operation and changeover conditions.
  • You deliver classroom and hands-on the job training in Metal Finishing equipment and processes.
  • You take part in the Lean Manufacturing and Sustainability strategy of the Group towards materials’ consumption reduction and process waste removal by supporting any new materials’ trials and process-challenging activities.
  • You liaise with CROWN Technology on equipment, tooling, materials and process improvements and standardisation of specifications.
  • You pass on the local Plant Teams new technologies and operational standards and you act as an ambassador of the Company’s operational culture towards the main manufacturing-related KPIs.

About You

The successful candidate has a sound engineering background to Higher National Diploma (HND) or Degree level in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. You are highly experienced in 2pc engineering and process knowledge, with a safety mind-set. You have the ability to acquire and utilise knowledge in specific areas of Metal Finishing areas, focusing on Lacquer Spray Machines (LSMs), Rim Coaters (BRCs & MRCs), Overvarnish units (O/V), the associating ovens: IBOs, Pin Ovens, Washer Dryers and UV ovens.

  • You can show proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels.
  • You demonstrate high levels of problem-solving, with a logical approach and effective decision-making skills.
  • A self-starter, you are an effective team player, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • You are also computer literate.
  • You are flexible to travel at short notice and for extended periods overseas with the willingness to adapt to different cultures and circumstances.
