Production Gauging Engineer

The Opportunity:

What a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Engineer with experience of Production Gauging. The Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer will provide technical expertise for manufacturing processes on this expansive, engineering site, focusing on measurement equipment for production gauging. The Manufacturing Engineer / Production Gauging Engineer will be to develop automated manufacturing processes whilst offering the team measurement expertise.

The Role:

  • Create, verify and release measurement programs for automated measurement equipment including 3D structured light systems (Zeiss Scanbox) & CMM
  • Design and deliver tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes
  • Development and implementation of new advanced manufacturing equipment and automation
  • Support justification of capital funding requests
  • Cost reduction and process improvement of current manufacturing techniques.
  • Creating and maintaining all documentation including SOPs, EMSs, JSAs for Production gauging and other Automated operations
  • Support NADCAP compliance for NADCAP controlled manufacturing equipment
  • Mentor other team members in CAD, GD&T & Automation
  • Support identification and implementation of new manufacturing technology
  • Responsible for program storage, data back-ups and revision control for Manufacturing equipment
  • Implement and support EH&S activities

Preferred Skills:

  • Minimum of a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of five years experience in an engineering environment
  • Knowledge of 3DSL measurement equipment
  • CMM Programming experience (Renishaw Modus)
  • Experience in Aerofoil Inspection
  • Experience trouble-shooting mechanical systems (pneumatics, tooling, measurement feedback systems)
  • Knowledge of automation systems
  • Good understanding of Engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Good understanding of tooling and fixture design

Working Hours:

8.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday

Associated Benefits:

  • Competitive salary in the region of £45000 depending on your experience and qualifications.
  • Day working (Mon-Fri) and a range of benefits including company bonus and an excellent pension scheme and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
