The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Intern – Raw Materials & Production will join our Production / Supply Chain team. The Production Intern will provide day-to-day support to the Production Manager, with a particular focus on raw material purchasing, production tracking and administration across Strathberry’s luxury leather goods, accessories and textile categories.
The role will support the team in ensuring raw materials and components are ordered, tracked and available in line with production requirements, while maintaining accurate production information and helping to keep key actions and deadlines on track.
Please note: This is a 6-month fixed term-contract. The role is based in Edinburgh, working onsite from our beautiful Townhouse in Edinburgh City Centre.

Key Responsibilities
Raw Material Buying & Tracking
- Support the Production Manager with the preparation and administration of raw material buys across leather, fabrics, hardware, linings and other production components.
- Assist with raising and maintaining raw material Purchase Orders (POs).
- Track PO confirmations, quantities, costs and expected delivery dates.
- Maintain raw material order and delivery trackers, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Follow up with suppliers on outstanding orders, confirmations, deliveries, and submissions.
- Monitor raw material deliveries against required production dates and highlight potential delays or shortages.
- Support the reconciliation of raw material orders, deliveries and outstanding balances.
- Assist with tracking excess, unused and surplus raw materials.
Production Support
- Support the Production Manager with the day-to-day coordination and administration of production.
- Maintain production trackers and support updates to the Critical Path (CP).
- Track key production milestones and follow up outstanding actions with suppliers, workshops and internal teams.
- Support the monitoring of production orders from placement through to finished goods delivery.
- Help identify upcoming deadlines, missing information and potential production risks for escalation to the Production Manager.
- Assist with preparing information for weekly production meetings and follow up agreed actions.
Purchase Orders, Invoices & Cost Administration
- Support the raising and maintenance of production and raw material POs.
- Assist with checking supplier invoices against POs and agreed costs.
- Highlight discrepancies in quantities, pricing or charges for review by the Production Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, credits and supplier costs.
- Support production cost, raw material and stock reconciliation exercises as required.
Supplier & Workshop Administration
- Communicate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to obtain order confirmations, delivery updates and outstanding information.
- Support the collection and organisation of supplier and workshop documentation.
- Assist with onboarding administration for new suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Maintain organised and accurate supplier, production and raw material records.

Systems, Data & Reporting
- Maintain accurate information across production systems, spreadsheets and trackers.
- Support data entry and system updates relating to POs, raw materials, production orders and deliveries.
- Assist with preparation of production and raw material reporting.
- Support data cleansing and preparation as the business develops and implements new systems and processes.
- Ensure production files, reports and documentation are organised and easily accessible.
General Production Support
- Provide administrative support across the wider Production team during busy periods.
- Support ad-hoc production projects, supplier research and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with packaging, testing, samples and other production-related projects where required.
- Work collaboratively with Product Development, Technical, Quality, Merchandising, Finance, Logistics and the Spain Operations team.
- Develop an understanding of luxury manufacturing, raw material purchasing and end-to-end production processes.

About You
To be a star candidate for this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Confident working with numbers, spreadsheets and data.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive and comfortable following up actions with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
- An interest in luxury fashion, leather goods, textiles, manufacturing and supply chain.
- Willingness to learn and develop a strong understanding of raw materials and production processes.
