Production Kitchen Assistant (CPU)
In Short
The Kitchen Assistant role is a hands-on position suited to someone with a genuine passion for quality, consistency, and great food. Based across our production kitchens, you will play an important part in producing best-in-class savoury breakfast and lunch items to be delivered to our Houses, ensuring each item is prepared with care and attention to detail.
You will also help maintain high product quality, support storage and dispatch processes, uphold cleanliness and food safety standards, and work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Directly reports to our Kitchen Supervisor and Kitchen Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing sandwich fillings, washing and chopping vegetables.
- Preparing various savoury items, sandwiches and wraps according to daily orders.
- Follow correct recipe and specification including weights and presentation
- Uphold standards across the team to make sure product quality is maintained and that all items are being produced to the correct recipe and product specification, ensuring consistency across all product lines.
- Address any product quality issues (quality, weights, finish) within the shifts and escalate as required.
- When required, completing Trail tasks to ensure food safety compliance.
- Ensuring correct storage and labelling of all ingredients.
- Assisting in the correct storage of deliveries.
- Packing and storage of finished products for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace throughout the shift.
- Following hygiene SOPS and comply with relevant food hygiene and health and safety legislation.
- Cleaning floors, sanitising stations, taking out the refuse and maintaining safety standards at all times.

Key To This Role
- Genuine passion for food and drive to deliver best-in class products to our Houses.
- Available 40hours per week, any 5 days out of 7.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene, knowledge of HACCP and ability to implement and manage food safety practices to remain compliant.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships whilst showing empathy to your colleagues.
- Attention to detail, be diligent in ensuring all product lines are consistent and to product specification.
- Ability to accurately follow recipe specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work at pace within a fast-paced environment.
