Position Summary
The Orals Production Lead has responsibility for the manufacturing and supporting processes and associated decisions to ensure delivery of customer service and schedule adherence whilst maintaining quality and safety standards for the area of their responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Lead production lines to deliver required output and schedule adherence, providing hands-on support while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Communicate shift targets clearly, prepare lines for success and complete effective handovers with the incoming Production Lead using the agreed logbook or system.
- Drive performance by positively challenging team members, holding people accountable and escalating when additional support is needed.
- Create and deliver technician training plans and provide operational cover, including during breaks, when required.
- Maintain accurate hourly and daily metrics, monitor shift performance and support problem-solving and process order change over with team leaders.
- Ensure the production facility meets GMP, safety and regulatory requirements, including GPS 5S and housekeeping standards, and support related investigations.
- Complete allocated BPR preparation and reviews, MERP activities, reconciliations and OOS investigations accurately and on time.
- Lead and maintain Tier 1 activity for allocated zones, manage OEE targets and toolkit use, ensure conformance to the daily plan and escalation process, and support pallet movement and waste management across the packaging floor.

Basic Qualification
- A levels or GCSE’s grades A-C (Math’s and English)
- Experience working within a similar production area and leading technicians
- Ability to run production lines within the area
- SAP knowledge
- Ability to follow Leader Standard Work
- Logical fault finding skills leading to decisions in a timely manner
- Basic GPS knowledge especially in problem solving
- Knowledge of audit processes, preparation and requirements

Preferred Qualification
- Good knowledge of site safety regulations
- Active continuous improvement advocate
- Computer Skills – Excel/PowerPoint/Word
- Self-motivation and drive with strong interpersonal skills to work alongside teams
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to balance resource and plan ahead
- Ability to plan, organize and control workloads of self and others to meet deadlines and deliver schedule and targets
- Communication skills at all levels both written and verbal
Working Pattern and Location
This role is on-site at a United Kingdom manufacturing location. Working patterns include shift work and may include early and late rotating shifts. Hybrid or remote working is not available for this production-focused role.
About Worthing Manufacturing Site
Manufacturing at the Worthing site is for antibiotics (Penicillin). It is advised that you take this into consideration when deciding to apply for this position.
GSK Worthing Site is a mixed manufacturing site with complex regulatory pressures. Manufacturing processes are highly technical and include high hazard activities.
