ADEY, the market leader in the provision of residential water treatment products for closed loop heating and cooling systems in the UK, is looking for a Production Line Lead to join the team.
Now part of the Genuit Groups’ Climate Management Solutions (CMS) business unit, ADEY has ambitious growth plans.
Working Hours
- AM Shift: 5:30 - 13:45 Monday to Thursday
- 5:30 - 12:30 Friday
- PM Shift: 14:00 - 23:00 Monday to Thursday
- 13:00 - 17:00 Friday
Location: Stonehouse, Gloucester GL10
The Role
As a Production Line Leader, you will coordinate assembly line activities to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
The role focuses on organising and supporting line operators, monitoring production performance, recording hourly outputs, and carrying out quality checks on products leaving the line. You will work closely with Line Pickers and Shift Supervisors to keep production running smoothly and ensure targets are achieved.
Production Line Leaders are expected to identify and escalate any quality, safety, material, or performance issues promptly to the Shift Supervisor, helping to maintain safe and efficient operations throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Coordinate activities in the production cell in line with the production plan, aiming to minimise downtime and maintain line efficiency.
- Ensure materials are delivered to the line in a timely manner by working closely with Line Pickers.
- Communicate effectively with all line operatives to maintain single-piece production flow and prevent stoppages.
- Monitor equipment performance and promptly report faults or defects to the Shift Supervisor.
- Support prompt shift starts, break adherence and efficient shift handovers.
- Record hourly production outputs accurately and report performance as required.
- Provide regular updates to the Shift Supervisor on line performance, issues and risks.
- Ensure defective products are segregated and presented to Quality Assurance in line with company procedures.
- Ensure production areas are cleaned and maintained to the required housekeeping standards at the end of each shift and when changing product runs.

Team Coordination
- Coordinate and support line operatives throughout the shift to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Provide clear instructions and in-the-moment feedback to team members.
- Address minor performance or behavioural concerns promptly and escalate ongoing or serious issues to the Shift Supervisor.
- Promote teamwork, communication and a positive working environment across the production line.
Health & Safety
- Promote safe working practices and lead by example on the production line.
- Ensure team members follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Challenge unsafe behaviours and escalate concerns where necessary.
- Promptly report accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Quality
- Carry out routine quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
- Ensure Quality Alerts, Concessions and quality requirements are communicated to all line operatives.
- Promote adherence to quality procedures and escalate quality concerns immediately.
- Support investigations and corrective actions relating to quality issues when required.
- Encourage continuous improvement ideas that enhance product quality or operational performance.

The Person
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience coordinating or leading teams of hourly-paid employees.
- Understanding of production processes, quality requirements and safe working practices.
- Good planning and organisational skills to coordinate people, materials and workflow effectively.
- Ability to monitor production performance and accurately record output data.
- Basic understanding of quality and health & safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear instructions and updates.
- Ability to identify issues quickly and escalate them appropriately.
- Attention to detail with a focus on product quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to changing production priorities.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to motivate and coordinate team members to achieve production targets.
