Great opportunity to work as a Production Line Leader for one of the largest providers of fresh flowers to major supermarket chains throughout the UK.

Staffline is recruiting for Production Line Leaders for the day shift in Alconbury.

The rate of pay is:

  • Day shift is paid at £14.50 per hour
  • Overtime: £18.13 per hour (paid after 48 hours)

This is a full-time role and the shift pattern will be:

  • 4 on, 3 off, 3 on 4 off - Shifts are generally scheduled from Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday.

The hours of work are:

  • 6:30am to 7pm

As part of a busy and fast-paced operation, flexibility is essential during peak periods such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Christmas, when night shifts may be required.

This is a temporary-to-permanent role with long-term opportunities for the right candidates.

Your Time at Work

As a Production Line Leader your duties will include:

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the team to achieve performance targets and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and customer specifications across all processes.
  • Deliver an efficient packing operation on a daily basis.
  • Oversee daily operations, manage production schedules, and promptly resolve any issues.
  • Provide training and ensure adherence to operational procedures and company policies.
  • Support manufacturing initiatives and drive continuous improvement, ensuring all KPIs are met and work is within budgetary constraints.
  • Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the packaging area.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of production data, waste, and returns.

Our Perfect Worker

Our ideal Line Leader will have:

  • Previous supervisory or team management experience
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and health & safety protocols
  • Experience in fresh produce, food production, or FMCG environments
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Great communication skills

The ideal candidate will be consistent and reliable, with a strong ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, solution-focused approach. Behavioural safety training and experience with the Rubicon ERP system are advantageous, as is experience in lean manufacturing and working with UK retailers in a manufacturing environment.

Additionally, you will need to have a flexible can-do attitude as you may be required to work in other areas or undergo training as necessary.
