Line Operative – Nights

Newstaff Employment Services, Milton Keynes are recruiting on behalf of a global manufacturer of plastic caps and closures for the packaging industry.

Our client employs over 200 people across three modern, well-equipped factories, operating multiple shifts and supplying major blue-chip customers using high-speed automated production techniques.

We are currently looking for Line Operatives to join the night shift team.

Shift Pattern

  • Tuesday to Friday
  • 8:00pm – 8:00am
  • 12-hour shifts

Pay Rates

  • Training (3–4 weeks on day shift):
    • Tuesday to Friday, 8:00am – 8:00pm – £12.95 per hour
  • Night Shift:
    • Tuesday to Friday, 8:00pm – 8:00am – £15.80 per hour (£12.95 per hour plus a 22% shift premium)

Following successful completion of training, you will move onto the permanent night shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Erecting cardboard cartons and attaching labels
  • Carrying out quality inspections on finished products
  • Stacking pallets with completed boxes
  • Making up new boxes
  • Moving cartons and bulk bins to and from production machines
  • Completing production paperwork accurately
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the production area
  • Following health and safety procedures at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling duties
  • Comfortable standing for 12-hour shifts
  • Good English reading and writing skills
  • Good numerical skills
  • Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
