Production Maintenance Engineer
Knottingley Site – West Yorkshire
Salary £35,137 per annum
Verallia UK is one of Europe’s most prominent manufacturers of premium glass containers, providing exceptional quality glass packaging for some of the world’s most prestigious spirit brands for over one hundred years. Glass is infinitely recyclable making it an important packaging material of today and more importantly of the future, as such the glass industry is an exciting and sustainable business to work in and be part of.
We have three sites all based in West Yorkshire and are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and pro-active individuals to join our Engineering Department as Production Maintenance Engineers at our Knottingley site.
About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, the main purpose of the role is to provide ongoing and continuous support to production operations, ensuring optimum production efficiency at all times and that manufactured ware meets customer quality standards. Duties include supporting production changeovers throughout the day, the accurate and prompt set up of line and inspection equipment, attending to and resolving equipment breakdowns in a timely manner, as well as the delivery of PPM schedules.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing and continuous support to production operations
- Ensure optimum production efficiency at all times
- Ensure manufactured ware meets customer quality standards
- Support production changeovers throughout the day
- Accurate and prompt set up of line and inspection equipment
- Attend to and resolve equipment breakdowns in a timely manner
- Delivery of PPM schedules
About You
Suitable candidates should be both enthusiastic and committed, and have a can-do, proactive approach to work. Ideally, candidates will be apprentice-trained; however, if applicants can demonstrate a high level of skills and knowledge within a similar role, with relevant transferrable skills, then they will also be considered. The ability to work unsupervised to a high standard, work well within a small team, and be able to prioritize their workload, as well as use their own initiative, are essential behaviors and attitudes required for this role. In addition, an NVQ in an electrical discipline would be favorable, however, not essential.
Working Hours
This is a day position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7.00am to 3.00pm, however, there is an element of flexibility required for this role, and as such, these may change from time to time to suit factory needs.
