Here at Beagle Aircraft, we're a leading aerospace manufacturer, producing precision-engineered components and assemblies for some of the world's leading aerospace programmes.

As we continue to grow, we're now looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operation, drive operational excellence and ensure we consistently deliver world-class products to our customers.

The Role

Reporting to the Site Director, you'll lead our Production teams across multiple manufacturing areas, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and senior leadership, you'll be responsible for driving productivity, improving operational performance and embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and motivate Production teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery and productivity targets.
  • Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver strong customer performance by improving On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery and Right First Time (RFT) manufacturing.
  • Develop production plans and capacity strategies to meet customer demand while optimising labour and resources.
  • Monitor production performance, labour utilisation and manufacturing KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Planning, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to resolve production challenges and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage recruitment, performance, training and development across the Production function.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality standards and company procedures while maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

About You

We're looking for a hands-on Production Manager with strong leadership skills and a proven background in engineering or aerospace manufacturing.

You'll ideally have:

Essential

  • Proven experience in a Production Manager or Manufacturing Manager role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership experience managing production teams and driving operational performance.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to improve productivity, quality, OTIF and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Experience managing labour planning, production scheduling and capacity planning.
  • Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Desirable

  • Aerospace or precision engineering manufacturing experience.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience leading business improvement or change management projects.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
