Position overview:

The purpose of the Production Manager role is to lead and manage continuous manufacturing operations to achieve exceptional performance in safety, quality, and efficiency. This role ensures that all processes comply with regulatory and company standards, and drives standardization across all shifts to maintain consistency, reliability, and best practices throughout the plant. The Production Manager fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement, empowering teams to operate at their highest potential and delivering sustainable operational excellence and consistent value to the business and its customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure health and safety compliance, reinforcing key safety behaviors across all shifts.
  • Drive standardization across shifts to ensure consistency in processes, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor shift managers to maintain process compliance and quality at the source.
  • Monitor and control plant performance using appropriate management indicators, proposing corrective plans to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and spoilage targets.
  • Actively participate in plant management team initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Build a high level of employee engagement and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Ensure training and development programs are implemented, maintained, and aligned with global standards.
  • Promote autonomous maintenance, equipment reliability, and preventive practices to maximize asset utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, and Code of Ethics.
  • Analyze production processes for cost and resource optimization, implementing improvements where possible.
  • Encourage root-cause problem solving and continuous improvement using BOE-defined tools.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with employees, unions, and peers, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Ensure flexibility in work schedules to meet production and operational requirements.

What are we looking for?

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience
  • Job related experience for 4 year(s) minimum in an industrial environment with a focus on manufacturing.
  • Experience managing teams in a continuous operation industrial environment
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred.
  • Ability to implement BOE standards, Gemba, 5S, and other operational excellence tools.
  • Training and development skills, including mentoring, goal setting, and performance evaluation.
  • Financial acumen: analyzing production costs, human resource utilization, and material consumption
  • Fluent English.
