Your new role
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven production professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards and service requirements are achieved safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will lead production teams, drive operational improvements, develop employees and play a key role in maintaining a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement.
Experienced Production Supervisors and Shift Managers who are ready to take the next step in their career are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily production activities to ensure operational targets are achieved.
- Lead and motivate production teams to deliver high levels of performance, productivity and engagement.
- Ensure all products are manufactured to required quality, food safety and customer standards.
- Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste and maximise output.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes to support operational excellence.
- Work closely with Planning, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure production requirements are met.
- Ensure labour resources are utilised effectively and staffing levels remain aligned with production demands.
- Prepare and manage employee rotas and work schedules.
- Support staff development through coaching, training and performance management.
- Implement job rotation and delegation to increase flexibility and employee development.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across the department.
- Investigate production issues and implement preventative actions to minimise recurrence.
- Monitor key performance indicators and develop improvement plans to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements and regulatory standards.

What you'll need to succeed
Essential
- Previous experience in a supervisory, team leadership or production management role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Experience managing staffing levels and employee schedules.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Understanding of quality standards and quality control processes.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Good IT skills with experience using manufacturing, ERP or scheduling systems.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced production environment.

Desirable
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Production Manager position.
- Food manufacturing or FMCG experience.
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Mechanical awareness and understanding of production equipment.
- Experience working alongside planning, supply chain and quality functions.
