Production Manager - Food Manufacturing
Location: Nottinghamshire, Newark
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Working Hours: Days
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join a growing food manufacturing business based in Nottinghamshire. The business specialises in the growing, preparation and packing of fresh root vegetables and is looking for a hands-on Production Manager to oversee day-to-day production operations and help drive efficiency, quality and performance across the site.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the day-to-day production operation and ensuring targets are achieved.
- Leading, motivating and developing the production team.
- Ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Monitoring production performance, waste, downtime and output.
- Ensuring all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures are followed.
- Working closely with other departments to ensure smooth production and packing operations.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, productivity and efficiency.
- Supporting production planning and ensuring customer requirements are met.

About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous Production Management experience within food manufacturing.
- Experience managing production teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- A strong understanding of food safety, quality and hygiene standards.
- Good knowledge of production processes, KPIs and continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front.
- Experience within fresh produce, food processing, agricultural products or vegetable packing would be particularly advantageous.
