Our client is a well established, growing manufacturing company based in Deeside.
Description
We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production targets.
Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, leading production teams, and driving continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for delivering high levels of productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will be a strong people manager with a passion for operational excellence and proven experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations to achieve production targets.
- Ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor production performance and implement improvements where necessary.
- Manage labour, equipment, and materials to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved and customer delivery requirements are met.
- Manage, coach, and develop production supervisors, team leaders, and operators.
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture built on accountability and teamwork.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
- Promote employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
- Reduce downtime, waste, and operational costs.
- Support the implementation of new processes, equipment, and technologies.
- Monitor and report on key production KPIs including output, efficiency, quality, downtime, and labour utilisation.
- Analyse production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to operational planning and business improvement projects.

Profile
You are an experienced Production Manager with a proven track record of leading manufacturing teams and delivering operational improvements. You are highly organised, results-driven, and capable of balancing people management with operational performance.

Required Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.
- Experience leading and developing teams within an industrial manufacturing and engineering environment.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, quality systems, and operational best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing production KPIs and driving performance improvements.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Good IT skills, including experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline / equivalent.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement qualifications.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- A background in mechanical engineering and assembly would help.
Job Offer
£60,000 to £65,000 plus car and benefits.
