Production Manager

Normanton, West Yorkshire

£37,000 – £39,000 per annum

Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced Production Manager to take control of day-to-day manufacturing operations, leading production teams while driving quality, efficiency, safety and continuous improvement.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for complex, multi-stage production processes and ensuring production plans and despatch requirements stay firmly on track.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing daily production schedules, resources and KPIs
  • Leading and developing Production Supervisors and production teams
  • Driving improvements in quality, cost and efficiency
  • Identifying bottlenecks, waste and downtime – and tackling them
  • Managing staffing levels, recruitment, onboarding and training
  • Coaching, mentoring and managing employee performance
  • Monitoring rejects and supporting corrective actions
  • Ensuring production meets demand and despatch requirements
  • Maintaining excellent health & safety, housekeeping and risk-assessment standards
  • Producing production reports and keeping senior management informed
  • Working closely with Procurement, Distribution and other departments

You should also be IT literate, comfortable preparing reports and have a solid understanding of health & safety responsibilities, including risk assessments.

A Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely is desirable.
