The Role
The Production Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient and predictable delivery of manufacturing and assembly activities, while supporting integration and test across Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs), associated payloads and supporting equipment.
The role will lead production operations, ensuring products are delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standards. The Production Manager will establish and maintain production systems, processes and controls that enable the organisation to scale from preliminary builds to repeatable low-volume and medium-volume manufacturing.

Production Planning and Delivery
- Own the end-to-end production plan for all products and projects
- Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with customer delivery milestones
- Ensure materials, tooling, facilities and labour resources are available to meet build requirements
- Monitor production performance against cost, schedule and quality targets
- Manage production risk and recovery plans where delivery is threatened
Manufacturing Operations
- Lead all workshop assembly, integration and test activities
- Ensure efficient utilisation of production facilities, equipment and personnel
- Drive standardisation of manufacturing processes and build methods
- Establish and maintain production routings
- Support Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) activities
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop technicians, electricians and workshop personnel
- Manage recruitment, training and competency development
- Establish clear objectives and performance expectations
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement
Quality and Configuration Control
- Ensure production activities comply with quality management requirements
- Implement inspection and test plans
- Support configuration management and build traceability
- Manage non-conformance reporting and corrective actions
- Drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Supply Chain and Inventory Management
- Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability
- Monitor inventory levels and production shortages
- Support supplier development and production readiness reviews
- Manage production-related supplier issues and escalations
Facilities, Tooling and Equipment
- Ensure production facilities are maintained and fit for purpose
- Define tooling, equipment and infrastructure requirements
- Support investment cases for production capability expansion
- Manage calibration, maintenance and asset control processes

Health, Safety and Environmental Management
- Ensure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout production operations
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments
- Ensure safe systems of work are implemented and maintained
Continuous Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles
- Drive productivity, quality and cost improvements
- Develop production KPIs and visual management systems
- Lead improvement projects across manufacturing operations
Key Deliverables
- On-time delivery of customer products

- Production readiness reviews completed

Salary
The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
