What you'll be involved in

Lead the day-to-day manufacturing operation at Teledyne Microwave UK, ensuring the safe, efficient and on-time delivery of high-performance RF and microwave products. The role requires strong leadership capability together with experience of driving production output, delivery performance, production planning execution and workforce development within a manufacturing environment. The role is accountable for manufacturing performance, production planning execution and delivery of customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead production teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives.
  • Drive production output, operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure production schedules are executed and customer commitments met.
  • Lead recovery actions for missed deliveries, production constraints and capacity challenges.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Projects and Facilities teams to resolve production issues and improve operational performance.
  • Support the introduction of new products into manufacture.
  • Develop team capability through effective coaching, training and performance management.
  • Drive cross-training and skills development to reduce single points of failure and improve manufacturing flexibility.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures, quality standards and health & safety requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Experience within electronics, aerospace, defence or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, manufacturing processes and delivery execution.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading teams and delivering operational improvements.
  • Experience of developing manufacturing teams and improving workforce capability.
  • Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of RF, microwave or electronics manufacturing processes.
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering, Electronics or Manufacturing.
  • Experience of New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience within a regulated or defence environment.

This role is best suited to an individual with strong production leadership experience, a focus on delivery execution, production planning and team development, together with the ability to drive manufacturing performance within a highly specialised environment.
