Production Manager – Food Manufacturing - LATE SHIFT
Location: Liverpool
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Sector: Food Manufacturing
Shift: Monday to Friday - 15.00pm to 00.00am / 40 hours per week

Our client is a leading food manufacturer and distributor based in the West Midlands / Black Country area, supplying major national retailers, large food service groups and blue-chip organisations.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to take ownership of production operations across the shift, driving high standards of Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Waste and Performance.
You will be responsible for leading and developing the production team, ensuring operational KPIs are achieved while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership and accountability for the production area throughout the shift.
- Drive Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Waste Reduction and Performance objectives.
- Monitor oil and production levels from end to end to ensure business requirements are achieved.
- Plan workflow and labour requirements in line with demand and agreed budgets.
- Monitor and review employee performance, identifying training and development requirements.
- Motivate and engage the team to drive efficiency and operational performance.
- Ensure production KPIs and targets are consistently achieved.
- Lead and support operational change within the department.
- Communicate regularly with the Production Manager regarding performance, issues and escalations.
- Monitor downtime and communicate potential operational and business impacts.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment.
- Act as Deputy for the Production Manager when required.
- Work closely with Warehouse and Transport teams to support effective end-to-end operations.

About You:
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Production management or significant production supervisory experience.
- Exposure to Warehouse and Transport operations.
- Experience managing employee performance, return-to-work processes and disciplinary procedures.
- Good knowledge of BRC standards and food safety compliance/audit requirements.
- Strong understanding of production, scheduling and supply chain principles.
- A results-driven approach with a focus on achieving operational targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong influencing and people management skills.
- The ability to remain calm and effective when working under pressure.
- A highly motivated, analytical and commercially aware approach.
- The ability to adapt to change and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
- Experience with production scheduling software.
- Proficiency with Excel, SAP, Access and other digital systems would be advantageous.
