Night Shift Manager – Food Manufacturing
Location: South Yorkshire
Shift Pattern: 3 Nights: Sunday–Tuesday + every other Saturday
I’m recruiting an experienced Night Shift Manager to lead a fast-paced food manufacturing operation in South Yorkshire.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role with responsibility for the performance of the night shift people, safety, quality, output, efficiency, and delivery.
You’ll report to the Operations Manager and work closely with Planning, Technical, Engineering, Hygiene, NPD, HR, and Health & Safety to ensure the production plan is delivered safely, efficiently, and right first time.

- Leading and developing the night-shift production team (most senior person on the shift)
- Delivering production targets and manufacturing KPIs
- Driving labor efficiency, waste reduction, and operational performance
- Maintaining food safety, quality, and customer standards
- Ensuring strong Health & Safety standards across the shift
- Managing performance, absence, and people issues effectively
- Conducting investigations and risk assessments
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
- Working cross-functionally to resolve operational issues quickly
- Creating clear accountability and high standards across the shift
Requirements:

- Proven leadership experience within food manufacturing
- Experience managing production teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong track record of delivering against manufacturing KPIs
- Confident people-management and leadership capability
- Good understanding of Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation
- HACCP and Food Safety qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
- Experience conducting investigations and risk assessments
Experience within a high-risk food manufacturing environment and a strong continuous improvement background would be particularly valuable.
