Role Description

The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Basingstoke. This role oversees daily production activities, ensuring that manufacturing schedules are met, resources are used efficiently, and products are delivered to agreed quality standards.

The Production Manager collaborates with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize processes, manage equipment and materials, and uphold safety and compliance requirements. The role also involves tracking key performance metrics, preparing reports, and supporting strategic production planning.

Qualifications

  • Experience in production management within electronics manufacturing with excellent understanding of Surface mount and Conventional assembly process to a hands-on level
  • Skills in planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and motivate production teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, 5S, Kaizen) and basic problem-solving tools.
  • Familiarity with quality standards, safety regulations, and manufacturing best practices in sectors such as automotive or aerospace.
  • Competence with production reporting, data analysis, and use of ERP or manufacturing systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels.
  • Relevant technical or engineering qualification; a degree or equivalent in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in on-site, hands-on production leadership in a high-mix or high-volume environment in the automotive industry an advantage.
