A leading specialist manufacturer within the bespoke joinery and fit-out sector is seeking a highly organised and commercially aware Production Manager to join their growing team. Renowned for delivering high-quality projects across a diverse client portfolio, the company continues to invest in its people, processes, and facilities, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional to take ownership of a key operational role.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for managing projects throughout the complete production life cycle, from design and procurement through manufacture and final installation. Acting as the central coordination point between Design, Procurement, Workshop, and Installation teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and within budget.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing projects throughout the full internal production process.
- Developing, maintaining, and prioritising production schedules in line with project deadlines and installation dates.
- Coordinating production workload, capacity planning, and resource requirements with workshop management.
- Collaborating closely with the Design team to ensure drawings and technical information are issued in line with production schedules.
- Working with Procurement to ensure materials are ordered and available when required.
- Monitoring project progress, labour hours, productivity, and manufacturing costs against agreed budgets.
- Identifying programme risks, delays, material shortages, and capacity constraints, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Ensuring manufacturing priorities are clearly communicated and achieved across operational teams.
- Coordinating handover to installation teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
- Maintaining accurate project and production information within ERP systems.
- Providing regular management updates on programme status, budgets, risks, and resource requirements.
- Promoting a strong health and safety culture across all manufacturing and installation activities.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Project Manager, or similar operational leadership role.
- Experience within bespoke joinery, furniture manufacturing, fit-out, construction manufacturing, or a related sector.
- Strong project management, production planning, and scheduling expertise.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience monitoring labour utilisation, project budgets, and production costs.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience using ERP, MRP, or production management systems.
- Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office and production planning software.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to build effective working relationships across design, procurement, manufacturing, and installation functions.
- A proactive approach to health, safety, and continuous improvement.
