Production Manager

Location: West Yorkshire

Night Shift | 6pm–6am

Alexander Steele Recruitment is managing the recruitment of a Production Manager for a large, fast-paced and highly successful FMCG manufacturer based in West Yorkshire.

This is a key leadership position, responsible for the full manufacturing operation throughout the night, managing a team of approximately 25–30 people and acting as the main point of contact for the wider operation during the shift.

The Role

  • Take full ownership of the production operation throughout the night shift, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency and output targets are achieved.
  • Lead and develop a team of 25–30 production employees, creating a positive, accountable and high-performing culture.
  • Act as the key operational decision-maker on shift, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
  • Monitor performance across production, waste, downtime, quality and labour.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and other departments to maintain smooth operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement and consistently look for opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure strong communication and effective handovers between shifts.

Shift Pattern

  • 6pm–6am
  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
  • Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday

About You

  • You will have previous experience managing production teams within a fast-paced FMCG, food, beverage or similar manufacturing environment, ideally with experience leading teams of 20+.
  • You will be a confident and hands-on leader, comfortable taking ownership of an operation, making decisions independently and maintaining high standards across Health & Safety, Quality, Food Safety and performance.
