Location: Cramlington
Salary: £60,000–£65,000
Hours: Dayshift, with every other Friday off

Job Summary

We are recruiting an experienced Production Manager – Plastics to join an established manufacturing business in Cramlington.
This is a senior manufacturing role with responsibility for leading Production and Production Engineering activity across a multi-site operation. The position has a strong focus on injection moulding, tooling, quality, operational performance, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of plastics manufacturing with proven people leadership and the ability to drive improvements across safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Production and Production Engineering teams across multiple sites
  • Drive output, quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Lead continuous improvement activity across moulding operations
  • Support new tooling projects and mould trials
  • Lead new mould sampling and validation
  • Identify and resolve tooling and moulding issues
  • Improve cycle times and manufacturing capability
  • Monitor performance and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain high QHSE standards
  • Develop team capability, accountability, and engagement
  • Work with toolmakers and wider engineering teams on new and existing projects

Person Specification

  • Strong background within plastics and injection moulding
  • 5+ years’ experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • At least 2 years’ experience at senior or management level
  • Strong technical understanding of moulding processes and machinery
  • Experience with tooling, new mould sampling, and validation
  • Proven continuous improvement experience
  • Strong people leadership and communication skills
  • Good understanding of QHSE within manufacturing
  • Engineering or manufacturing qualifications advantageous
