Based: Premier Foods Worksop - S81 7AY
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm (37.5 hours per week)
Contract Status: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: Circa £41,000 per annum, depending on experience

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role within our supply chain? We are currently seeking a Production & Material Planner to join our team in Worksop, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

The core purpose of this role is to ensure the timely delivery of materials, effectively manage supplier relationships, and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production without overstocking. This position demands foresight, agility, and excellent communication skills.

You'll also be responsible for coordinating production timelines, resources, and workforce availability to ensure manufacturing runs efficiently. While daily and weekly tasks will focus on immediate priorities, monthly activities will emphasise longer-term planning, performance tracking, and process improvements.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Material Planning

  • Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Call off / order management
  • Inward flow management
  • Advice and resolution of supply issues
  • Stock level management on site, mitigating shorts / surpluses
  • Coordination with suppliers on delivery schedules and deviations to plan
  • Execution of inventory write-offs

Production Planning

  • Labour & daily production plan based on a frozen horizon
  • Scheduling and optimisation
  • Weekly production and labour plans
  • Daily production schedules
  • Overall site planning
  • Interface with engineering and shutdowns
  • KPIs: Including inventory materials volume and value, labour utilisation, plant utilisation (OEE and capacity hours / Conformance to plan), dispatch service, and reduction of waste regarding materials.

What we need from you:

  • Highly numerical with advanced Excel capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP or MRP principles and working in SAP ECP
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Experience of scheduling multiple fast-paced production lines
  • Good with building relationships, including strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to challenge when necessary
