Role Description

Job Purpose

To assist Production Management and Team Leader in all aspects of carrying out daily production tasks within EOL to ensure its continued success.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for running the Labeller, Casepacker, or Re-palletiser machines and ensuring that the line is kept running with quality checks on the product, handling any issues that may arise.
  • Work as part of the team to ensure KPI’s are achieved.
  • Full participation/implementation of 5s, ACS, and other internal practices.
  • Keep machines in a good standard and carry out ‘clean as you go” policy.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Keeping to environmental and occupational safety regulation.
  • Undertake continuous training and development, actively helping in achieving company business goals and vision.
  • Assist engineers in machine changeovers.
  • Waste identification and reduction.

  • Responsible for operating the production machine and running the line to meet daily targets.
  • Circa 50 SKUs.
  • Product mix: 1ltr, 2ltr, 3ltr, 1.25ltr, etc.

Shift Pattern

  • Ensure that all team activities meet both internal standards and external regulatory requirements with respect to Health & Safety, finished product quality, food hygiene, Good Manufacturing Practice, and environmental impact. To ensure that the Company’s obligations and policies in these areas are fully complied with.
  • Ensure production results in terms of both quality and quantity considering the relevant quality standards.
  • Ensure that all QC checks as detailed on production records are carried out on time and in full. Production records are accurate and up to date. Any quality issues or concerns are immediately brought to the attention of the operations shift manager.
  • Ensure that where applicable costs are kept to a minimum wherever possible whilst still achieving a production plan.
  • Conducting hourly checks.
  • Ensure that production employees work in a culture of continuous improvement; lead team in 5’s, AM, Asset care, fault finding, analysis data.
  • Be capable of working at various positions on the production lines and assisting with the capping, labelling, packing, and palletisation of product.
  • Be capable of fixing issues that might occur during a shift as well as adjusting machine settings.
  • Ensure the production machine is running efficiently and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure to wear correct PPE at all times and report any accidents or hazards.
  • The completion of all Production QMS documentation, as required.
  • Ensure a good level of housekeeping during the shift and at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure that raw and packaging materials are controlled and mirror the plan.
  • All engineering issues reported to a Team Leader and escalate to their department.
  • Ensure the machine is continuously fed with the required materials consistently and timely.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Multi-Skilled Operator is responsible for delivering finished goods products meeting customer standards. The role-holder must demonstrate the following:
    • Literate and numerate to the Company’s skills assessment level as a minimum.
    • Versatile.
    • Experience of team working.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Awareness of food hygiene requirements.
    • Cooperation within teams, supporting others both own team and across both internal and external customer.
    • Understanding of production procedures.
    • Take responsibility for personal development.
    • High level of attention to detail, working quickly and accurately.
    • Must plan daily activities to ensure the best use of time and resources to meet daily production targets.
    • Being able to perform the job with limited supervision.
