Production Operations Team Lead

Location: Blackpool
Duration: 12 months
Hours: 40

Imagine your next project as an Operations Team Lead, an ideal opportunity for an individual to experience leadership of a critical site operation, to develop and build their leadership skills, and build end-to-end understanding of product flow within the supply chain.

Reporting directly to the Value Stream Leader

Team Leader will provide day-to-day supervision and leadership on the shop floor, manage resources to add value to production operations whilst ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and business systems. The role will be the catalyst for improvement in the performance of the production lines and drive operational excellence in the areas under their control.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provides frontline leadership on the shop floor by day-to-day supervision including daily production output tracking, mentoring, and coaching
  • Responsible for escalating and communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level
  • Manage the allocation of resources to ensure delivery of day-to-day operational demands whilst also supporting company-wide activities
  • Effectively manage and allocate headcount resource using resource scheduler, flexibility & training matrix, etc.
  • Facilitate problem identification and resolution to root cause with the team to ensure customer service levels are achieved
  • Effectively manage absence, lates, & disciplinary matters in a fair and reasonable manner in line with company policies and credo values
  • Complete performance appraisals and development conversations in a timely manner
  • Enforce all GMP requirements
  • Promote continuous improvement in pursuit of higher quality products and lead operational excellence within the value stream
  • Ensure team effectiveness by providing clear goals and objectives which drive accountability at both a team and individual level
  • Champion best practice improvement principles (e.g., Process Excellence, Lean) to drive a continuous improvement culture

How to Succeed

  • 4 years’ experience in a supervisory management role within a GMP environment
  • Experience of managing/supervising Production teams within a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Familiarity with production processes and terminology is a plus
