Contract: Full time | Permanent | 40 hours a week

South Staffordshire Water, which operates across two regions as Cambridge Water and South Staffs Water is a privately-owned regulated water only company.
South Staffs Water supplies a population of nearly 1.3 million. The area of supply stretches from the edge of Ashbourne in the north, to Halesowen in the south, and from Burton on Trent in the east, to Kinver in the west.
The Role
Production Operative is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of water treatment facilities, booster stations, pumping stations, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure. The role ensures the reliable delivery of water services while maintaining high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement effective health & safety systems and ensure they are adhered to.
- Undertake operation and maintenance on booster stations.
- Responsible for chemical deliveries.
- Schedule and manage 3rd party accesses to production sites.
- Responsible for site maintenance on:
- Reservoirs
- Valve complexes
- Booster stations
- Source stations
- Treatment works
- Routine maintenance at Seedy Mill
- Sludge removal and control
- Carry out cleaning of contact tanks and reservoirs.
- Water Quality sampling
- Work alongside technical operators when required.
- Weekend treatment work duties
- Maintain and promote good housekeeping at all production sites.

What You’ll Need
Demonstrable experience:
- Knowledge of Chemical handling
- Basic hydraulic principles
- Grounds maintenance
Qualifications Required
- EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
- HV awareness
- Confined spaces training.
Essential Skills
- Driving Licence
- Tractor license, hitch and reversing certified.
- I.T. Literate – basic

- Water Industry exposure
- NVQ Level 2 Water Process Operations
- IOSH Managing Safely
