Production Operative

Monday to Friday 0700 - 1530 (40hrs)
£13.00ph
Temporary for 4 weeks commencing 14th September

Role Purpose

To support the workshop team by preparing, sanding and finishing model board and tooling materials to required standards, ensuring components are ready for machining, assembly or further production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sanding, smoothing and finishing model board, tooling block and composite materials.
  • Preparing materials for machining, including blocking up, trimming, cleaning and organising components.
  • Using hand tools (sanders, files, scrapers) safely and effectively.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working area at all times.
  • Assisting skilled engineers with general workshop tasks as required.
  • Loading/unloading materials and supporting basic manual handling tasks.
  • Following instructions accurately to meet quality and dimensional requirements.
  • Reporting defects, damage or issues to the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Adhering to all company health & safety, PPE and housekeeping standards.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Practical, hands-on approach with good attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with manual, repetitive and physical work.
  • Previous workshop, manufacturing or sanding/finishing experience is helpful but not essential.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of hand tools and safe working practices.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to maintain consistent output.
