Production Operative Needed in Telford, Shropshire

Do you have previous experience working within a manufacturing environment, are you looking for a job that could lead to a full-time contract, and are you able to get to Hortonwood?

We are seeking a Production Operative for a well-established manufacturing business based in the Hortonwood area of Telford, Shropshire. The working hours for this job will be day shifts (7.45am - 4.15pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am - 1.00pm Friday): 37 hours per week, and the job comes with a starting rate of pay of £13.10 per hour, which will rise once you've completed a 3-month probation period.

Previous experience from within the aerospace, automotive, or electronics industry would be well received. Someone who holds a COSHH certificate would be really well received.

What You Will Do

  • Take manufactured components through the next stage of manufacturing to help keep production moving smoothly.
  • Check parts against technical drawings to ensure specifications are met every time.
  • Monitor and support machine operation, helping address any issues quickly and safely.
  • Identify and raise quality concerns with the manufacturing team so standards stay consistently high.
  • Ensure every component meets required customer standards before progressing to the next production stage.

What You Will Bring

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a production or quality-focused setting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, so updates and queries are clear on the shop floor.
  • An understanding of COSHH, or willingness to work to COSHH standards consistently.
  • Experience with sheet metal, stainless steel, or aluminium is desirable, but not essential.
  • A reliable, quality-first mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
