About The Role

Pertemps Gloucester is seeking a Production Operative to join a frozen food manufacturer in Ledbury, offering £13.00 per hour on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. Working weekly rotating morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday, you will operate within a chilled environment. Duties include removing packaging, preparing items, loading hoppers and lines, monitoring semi-automated equipment, and stacking finished goods onto pallets. This position suits someone comfortable with repetitive tasks and cold conditions, who can follow instructions reliably. Previous experience in a similar industrial setting is beneficial but not essential, as training is provided. The role offers consistent hours and the possibility of permanent employment following a successful temporary period.


Job Description

Production Operative required in Ledbury, paying £13.00 per hour, Temp to Perm Contract, Weekly Rotating Morning and Afternoon Shifts (Monday to Friday). Pertemps are currently recruiting for Production Operatives on behalf of a well established manufacturer of frozen food based in Ledbury. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy production team on a temporary ongoing basis, with full time hours and weekly rotating shifts. Due to the nature of the products, you will be working in a chilled environment.

The Role

As a Production Operative, your duties may include:

  • Removing packaging and preparing products for production.
  • Separating product and loading products onto hoppers and production lines.
  • Monitoring semi-automated production machinery.
  • Stacking products onto pallets ready for dispatch.
  • Carrying out quality control inspections throughout the production process.
  • Checking products as they pass through the production line and X-ray process.
  • Supporting production lines as part of a team of 4-5 operatives alongside a Line Leader.
  • Working within freezer and warehouse areas where required.
  • Using handheld equipment and supporting forklift operations where appropriate.
  • Loading pallets onto lorries and preparing goods for distribution.
  • Completing paid on site e-learning training using a smartphone.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Following food safety, quality and health & safety procedures at all times.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous production, manufacturing or warehouse experience is beneficial.
  • Good level of spoken and written English.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Comfortable working in chilled conditions.
  • Comfortable completing repetitive and physically demanding tasks, including manual handling and pallet stacking.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully and work safely around production machinery.
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to support different departments when required.
  • Candidates with previous forklift experience are encouraged to apply as additional in-house training opportunities may be available.
  • Flexible to work the weekly rotating shift pattern.

Hours of Work

Weekly Rotating Monday To Friday Shifts

  • Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00 (37.5 hours)
  • Week 2: 14:00 - 22:30 (40 hours)

Pay Rate

£13.00 per hour
