Contract: Full time | Permanent | 40 hours a week

South Staffordshire Water, which operates across two regions as Cambridge Water and South Staffs Water is a privately-owned regulated water only company.
South Staffs Water supplies a population of nearly 1.3 million. The area of supply stretches from the edge of Ashbourne in the north, to Halesowen in the south, and from Burton on Trent in the east, to Kinver in the west.
The Role
Production Operative is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of water treatment facilities, booster stations, pumping stations, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure. The role ensures the reliable delivery of water services while maintaining high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating and maintaining booster sites, pumping stations, water treatment facilities, and tanks both indoors and outdoors.
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards such tasks as tank cleaning, receiving chemical deliveries, and inspection of booster sites
- Travel to other booster sites and ensure they are operating correctly.
- Personal responsibility for the care and maintenance of assigned equipment.
- General grounds maintenance and landscaping.
- Operating our sludge works, a critical part of our treatment process.
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders including members of the public and customers.
- You will be part of a small team working in a rotating weekend working pattern including some bank holidays.

What You’ll Need
- A valid UK driving licence for travel throughout the West Midlands region.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to the role are highly valued.
- Effective organisational skills are essential to manage equipment and time efficiently.
- A desire to learn and a driven attitude towards work.
- Desirable skills include grounds maintenance experience, mechanical fitter and hands-on experience "on the tools."
- Basic IT proficiency is also required.
Essential training will be provided which will help you gain the confidence within the operational area.
