Production Operative

Salary: £12.90 per hour

Working Hours: 39 hours per week
8:30 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday; 8:30 - 16:00 Fridays

Permanent role

Job Purpose:
To provide the efficient and effective assembly of abrasive products and general duties.

Duties and responsibilities:

Core Duties:

  • Manufacture of coated abrasive belts including the following processes:
    • Cutting to length
    • Joint preparation
    • Assembly and pressing
    • Slitting to required width
    • Packing and quality control inspection

Secondary duties:

  • Cookie cutting
  • Centre bore hole drilling
  • Dressing to size
  • Wheel marking
  • Packing and quality control inspection of Masterflex wheels.
  • Cutting to size
  • Blind end hole drilling
  • Gluing and shank mounting
  • Curing
  • Dressing to size, packing and quality control inspection of Masterflex points.

Person / skills specification:
Candidate will learn about all aspects of our busy production processes.

Essential:

  • Experience of working machinery
  • Awareness of safe practices in a factory environment
  • Awareness of Quality Control and able to work to requirements
  • Attention to detail
  • Level-headed with ability to work under pressure when required
  • Legible handwriting and maths ability
