About T&G Automotive
T&G Automotive is a manufacturer of both Steel and Aluminium pressure vessels for use on Car and Commercial Vehicle braking and suspension systems, where teamwork is essential to promote the flow of quality product to both our domestic and international customer base.
Job Openings
Due to an ongoing increase in demand we will be returning to a 2 shift working system and are currently looking to recruit Factory Operatives to work in the following areas:-
Pressure Vessel Production Line (Steel)
- You will be working as a team on various machines in a production line environment manufacturing Steel pressure vessels.
- Duties include loading component parts into Semi-Automatic Machines and clamping them in position prior to the machines carrying out welding, punching or rolling functions.
- Unloading completed parts and visually inspecting for any defects.
- As your employment continues you would receive training in the operation of all machines within the section.
Welding Robot Cell (Steel)
- You will be part of a team of 2 operators working on 1 cell.
- Positioning component parts onto jigs and securing them by means of both Manual and Pneumatic clamping systems ready to be welded.
- As the parts move into the welding area of the cell you will be removing and visually checking the previously welded parts for any missing welds or defects.
- Repeating the tasks to maintain a continuous working process.

Test Operations (Steel)
- Working in a team of 3 people you will be responsible for either one of the 3 operations of the testing process.
- Fitting stainless steel pneumatic blanking plugs to seal the vessel during the test process.
- Operate a 2 stage test machine that will in stage 1 automatically check vessel structure then, in stage 2 you will visually check for any air leaks.
- Remove blanking plugs after the test process, prepare the vessels and place them on conveyor system that takes them through the cleaning and anti-corrosion pre-treatment process prior to powder coating.
- In due course learning all 3 operations to be able to rotate with other operators.
Powder Coating /Packing & Inspection
- Working as part of a team of 5 operators within our finishing area.
- Part of a team of 2 you will be operating our automated Powder Coating equipment.
- As part of a team of 3 you will be working on inspection of the product and packing products to customer requirements.
- In due course you will be expected to learn all operations within the area.
Requirements
- Applicants with the relevant skill set for any of the above jobs will be looked at for those specific jobs.
- Applicants with no relevant skill sets but who do have experience of working in similar environments will be looked at generally.

Training
The successful applicants will be given full training in the operation and working procedures of specific Machines / Processes. A flexible approach to work is essential as you will be trained on multiple machines to enable staff rotation to meet the needs of the business.
Work Schedule
As an employee of T&G Automotive your working week will be 39 hours based on a 2 shift system, rotating on a weekly basis as follows:-
WEEK 1
- Monday - Thursday 06:00-14:00, Friday 06:00 - 13:00 (pay rate £14.75 per hour / £575.26 per week inclusive of shift and attendance allowances)
WEEK 2
- Monday - Wednesday 14:00-00:00, Thursday 14:00 - 23:00 (pay rate £16.40 per hour / £639.57 per week inclusive of shift and attendance allowances)
As shift workers your break times are within the above working hours and are paid.
